About Us NRI Certificate

Indian Passport holders or OCI Card Holders resident in the jurisdiction of this Embassy can apply for issuance of a NRI (Non Resident Indian) Certificate.

Fee can now be accepted via any major Debit Card( Visa, Master Card, Maestro, JCB, Union Pay etc.) at POS Terminal at the Embassy counter.

Documents required for above service

Submit the following documents to Embassy of India, 69 Merrion Road, Ballsbridge, Dublin-4, Ireland in person:

  • A duly filled in application in prescribed proforma:  Form (Click here) 

  • Two passport size colour photographs 

  • Original Indian passport and photocopy of pages of the Indian passport with visas/arrival/departure immigration stamps

  •  On the basis of the Indian passport held, applicants may submit a list of their entry/exit into/from India to confirm length of total stay in foreign country during a particular financial year (March to April). (Link for Entry/Exit list)

  • Original and 1 copy of GNIB/ IRP Card.

  • Copy of Proof of Address in Ireland eg.  Driving License, Utility bills (Gas, Electricity Bill displaying applicant’s address / House Lease Agreement). 

  • Non-Indian passport holders- Original and 1 copy of passport, Original and 1 copy of OCI card.

  •  A letter detailing the purpose of requirement for the NRI Certificate.

  • If the applicant requires the NRI certificate to sponsor a person of immediate relation or a first degree relative then following documents of the said person are also required:

    • Copy of passport

    • Proof of relationship with the NRI sponsor

    • Copy of Aadhar card (if available)

    • Copy of OCI (if available)

    • Indian Educational Institute's requirement for NRI certificate for the course in which the candidate seeks admission

    • Applicants with Indian passport may also submit an affidavit/declaration that they have stayed abroad for more than 182 days during a particular financial year (March to April).(Link for Affidavit).

NB: Before applying to the Embassy, please check all the above documents have been attached with the application.
