  1. Filling up of Online Application Form

Application to be filled online, using the website: - https://embassy.passportindia.gov.in/

GUIDELINES FOR ONLINE REGISTRATION

Eligible Applicants can do online registration for applying for Passport. Use Internet Explorer Browser for doing Online Registration. 

Steps to be followed: Open https://embassy.passportindia.gov.in/  and select country by clicking Ireland flag from the main dashboard.  Click ‘Register’ and select Embassy/ Consulate as ‘Ireland-Dublin’. Complete the registration. Login again using ‘User Login’.  Select ‘Apply for Ordinary Passport’ and proceed with the application. 

Don't use Special characters while entering details in the Online Registration form.

Please note that the data once registered cannot be modified, so ensure that you are entering the correct data while doing Online Registration. In case if you have registered wrong data, you have to register again with the correct details and get the print outs with fresh File numbers. 

NoteIn the application, of the two addresses (i.e. Passport Printable address and Other address), one has to be an Indian address, while other local (i.e. Irish) address. 

In case previous passport was issued in India, please fill the Personal Particulars Form (click here). Please note to fill Indian addresses in the References section (No. 10) in the form.

NB: Please note that Passport is made on the basis of entries made by an applicant in the online form. Therefore, ensure that all entries in the online, as well as printed application form, are correct.

Payment Methods:

For Applications submitted in person at the counter of Embassy:

Fee can now be accepted via any major Debit Card( Visa, Master Card, Maestro, JCB, Union Pay etc.) at POS Terminal at the Embassy counter.

For Applications submitted through post:

Fee can now be paid via bank transfer to the Embassy's Account as per the details mentioned below. Applicants are requested to check the website and confirm the exact fees to be paid before making the payment. In case of any doubt, applicants may first contact Consular Section to confirm the exact amount of fees before paying the fees through bank transfer. Fee including the consular fee and ICWF component is to be transfered in a single transaction. For Eg., Fee for renewal of passport Booklet 36 pages will be Euro 62 which should be transfered online in a single transaction.

Applicant is requested to also submit the proof of fee payment (copy of Transaction Receipt) along with the application. The application will be processed only after receipt of the fee in the Embassy’s bank account. While making Bank Transfer, the applicant will mention his/her name, email/mobile no and Passport No., Name of Consular Service requested and File No. of Application form, if available (if remarks column in their bank allow).

  1. Submission of Application and Documents to Embassy

Submit the following documents either at Embassy or send by post to Embassy of India, 69 Merrion Road, Ballsbridge, Dublin-4, Ireland:

(i) The above printed application form;

(ii) Filled up Personal Particulars Form in case previous passport issued in India.

(iii) Original Indian Passport along with self-attested photocopy of front and last page of the passport;

(iv) Three photographs with white background (2x2 inch). Requirements for photograph can be checked here

(v) Self-attested copies of the following documents: Valid Visa copy to confirm status of stay in Ireland, GNIB card copy, Both parents GNIB card copies (in case of Minor).

(vi) If seeking change of address in the renewed passport, please bring an address proof such as utility bill, bank statement or driving licence etc, showing your name.

(vii) For endorsement of spouse’s name, please enclose a copy of marriage certificate and copies of details pages of the passport of your spouse.

(viii) In case of a change of name of the applicant (for reasons other than marriage / divorce), the new name must be published in newspapers, both in Ireland and in India, in the area of the applicant's residence(s). Original newspapers must be submitted along with the application. The applicant needs to visit the Embassy with his/her passport and sign an affidavit in the presence of the Consular Officer. In addition to this, two public/ school documents issued in the desired name are to be submitted, to ascertain that the applicant has actually changed his/ her name. 

Note: To receive the passport by Post, applicants are required to provide a self-addressed registered envelope.

Document submission: Monday-Friday between 9:30am and 12.00 noon. (Except holidays)*

Processing Time:

Passports will be issued only after receipt of clear Police Verification Report (PVR) from India. The verification may take up to 30 days or more. Thus, everyone is advised to apply for passport well in advance considering the time required in issuing the same. If application is sent via post, it will take additional 8-10 working days. 

 

  1. Collection Procedure:

Renewed Passports may be collected from the Embassy, on receipt of Embassy’s intimation email. Please bring your receipt and old passport, if not submitted while applying for the renewal of passport.
