About Us Advisory for Indian Students

Advisory for Indian Students

A large number of Indian Students choose Ireland for higher studies. As such, they should be fully informed of all conditions in the country before they decide on their study plans. This includes relevant rules and regulations governing work, housing and other aspects of living in Ireland.

2. Currently there is an acute shortage of suitable, reasonably priced, accommodation in Ireland, specially for international students. So, Indian students are advised to arrange for their accommodation on campus with their educational institutions or outside the campus well before their arrival in Ireland. The shortage of a suitable and affordable accommodation for students, have in some cases, led to instances of students being cheated by unscrupulous elements. Indian students are therefore advised to be cautious in dealing with any unauthorised persons. They are also advised to regularly keep visiting the Embassy website for any such information, in addition to their own efforts.

3. A few precautions to be kept in mind are -

(i) Students should not part with any money in advance unless they are certain of the validity of the accommodation offer. They should physically see the accommodation before making any deposits or signing a lease.

(ii) Students should check with the respective college’s Accommodation Office for lists of suitable accommodations and landlords. Useful websites to check for accommodation are Daft.ie and MyHome.ie for listings.
